Visual Complex

As part of my duties at work today, I am learning how to write macros for Excel using its lovely programming language, VBA. I carry a holy hatred for Visual Basic. In my book, any language that relies on visual formatting characters (such as line breaks, tabs, spaces, and so forth) as part of its syntax is utterly lame. That includes Python, Scheme, and especially Visual Basic. Secondarily, any IDE that has the gall to force its style of capitalization upon you when using a case-insensitive language is doubly lame. Sixth and lastly, a “Sub” is a naval vessel capable of submerging and carrying out operations underwater–and they have nothing to do with functions or procedures.
And, to conclude, Microsoft is a bunch of lying knaves.
