Why does Apple ship one-button mice?

In short, because users are incompetent. Certainly not the conclusion I would have come to (cough), but whatever. “Andru” blathers on for a little while about how Apple really does this to make developers write accessible applications, which strikes me as being almost as plausible as me selling my soul to become a VeggieTales marketing representative. I think a better answer would be that Apple makes money off of people being ignorant and wants to keep it that way.
