Day three

20 Apr 2005  in the early morning  Matt Winckler

Well, today marks Day 3 of the New Job, if not the New Man. Possibly that too, though, since for all intents and purposes I now work for The Man. Day 3 is shaping up to be much like Days 1 and 2, in that I still have no development tools with which to do anything approximating actual work. But I do have a speedyfast computer with dual flat panel monitors, which pleases me greatly. And I do have an office shared with only one other person, and I have a pretty nifty ID badge the size of a credit card that will wirelessly open locked doors for me, so that is all to the good.

About the only thing I don’t have are lovely static-free RF headphones. It seems that in this place there are enough things operating in the 900MHz frequency to prevent me from wirelessly enjoying some good old S&G. Alas!

2 vociferations follow:

So how was day 5? Are they letting you do any work yet?

BTW, I think this live preview on the comments is pretty cool.

  2. * * * * *

Well, I haven’t technically had a day 5, because I spent day 5 putting a new roof on my house. So the jury is still out on that one.

I like the live comment preview also. It was a one-minute plugin install. :)
