Not technically wrong, but funny anyway

I was grabbing the weekly free downloads on iTunes this morning, and the description of one of the artists got me cracking up.

23-year-old Brandi Carlile grew up 50 miles from Seattle, and her self-titled debut album reflects her isolated rural upbringing.

While it is certainly possible to be isolated, rural, and 50 miles from Seattle all at the same time, I nevertheless think that the copywriters missed a beat here. It strikes me that when one is trying to convey isolation and ruralness, one ought to refrain from giving the location as relative to one of the larger cities in the United States. Before really thinking about the distance measurement, I thought to myself Seattle? Rural? Where are the iTunes writers from?
