I finally finished a prototype map this afternoon for my most excellent game concept, and I’m now working on game documentation/instructions for play. Mystie’s a little under the weather, but we had roast beef this evening, and a roast just cries out for red wine, and so I have a bottle open. We don’t have a vacuum sealer or anything to preserve the wine, so I’m doing my best to minimize waste. I’m currently halfway through the bottle and thinking that I should have had this while designing the game map instead of while writing the rulebook. Verily, wine doth gladden the heart and stimulate the creativity, yet restrain the ability to write in coherent sentences. Shakespeare had it right - “Strong drink giveth the desire, sir, but taketh away the ability.” In more ways than one.
I also still need to post about my excellent white elephant gift that I mentioned a couple of weeks ago, but have been too lazy to do so because I don’t want to bother posting pictures - and it’s nothing without pictures. I’ll get around to it sometime. Sometime when my ability hath not been taken away, yet desire is present. I’m taking this entire week off from work, so the chances are even greater than normal that I’ll get something like that done.
