Elmo has evidently picked up a new attitude in his book, Potty Time with Elmo. The book is one of those interactive jobbies that can say various phrases, one of which is “Uh oh, who has to go?” However, due to cheap parts and audio compression, that particular phrase is being heard by many people as “Uh oh, who wants to die?” That’ll sure teach kids to use the toilet. “Hey kid! Use the toilet!” “But I don’t wanna!” “Uh oh, who wants to die??”
Of course, this controversy does also raise a question of why on earth parents would want a book about “potty time with Elmo” in the first place. I can think of more disgusting things, but not many.
