amusing sights
Today at 10 I got a call from our oustanding realtor, Jeremy Swanson, telling me that some people would be coming by to see our house in an hour and a half. So, after a dash around straightening things up, doing the dishes, nursing & changing Jaeger, and plopping some peanut butter on a piece of bread for Hans, we were out the door with 15 minutes to spare.
Just past 4th, as I gazed around me on the bright sunny day, I saw an odd sight turn onto Olympia. A girl about my age was pushing a stroller with a small infant inside. Now, this isn’t odd. But the girl was not only rollerblading while pushing the stroller down the sidewalk, she was doing all this in a long denim skirt.
Then, stopped at the light but a minute later, I looked back to see how Hans and his peanut butter “sandwich” (he will only eat them open-face) were getting along. Well, they were just chummy. Besides the usual around-the-mouth and across-the-hand messiness, it appeared as though Hans had missed his mouth and tried to stuff the bread, peanut-butter-side-up full onto his cheek. He gave me a thumbs-up and full-mouth, peanut-butter smile in response to my bemused questioning about his enjoyment of said sandwich.
