Shoes!
Hans and I went shoe shopping today. His Sunday shoes have been tight for weeks, and yesterday I was having trouble with his play shoes, too. So, he made the move up to 6′s today. Actually, I ended up getting size 6 1/2 because they were only a tad larger and it seemed to make no difference to him. I put the athletic shoes on his little feet — as he kept piping up with “Shoes! Shoes!” — and sent him walking down the aisle. He obligingly walked all the way to the end of the aisle, running back as fast as he could. I tried several different kinds of shoes on him, including some very cute sandals. He complained about the sandals, though; he didn’t like not wearing socks, I think. I suppose he’s just Daddy’s little boy. Unfortunately, there was only one pair of athletic shoes that weren’t “character” shoes. Spiderman, Nemo, Tonka — there had to have been at least 5 different character shoes, and then one plain white pair. However, with a coupon I was able to get his shoes for a grand total of $8.65, so I was well-pleased. We’ll still need to go shopping around to another store, though, because the Payless on 395 didn’t have the shoes I wanted to get him for church; they had them in brown, but not black, and I know I saw them in black at Shopko’s Payless. The brown ones were on sale for $9, though, with the original price of $14.99 — I hope the black ones will be on sale, as well, or I shall be faced with a financial and fashion dilemma.
