Definitely Latin

There’s no question about it, Matt and I will do Latin with our kids. The more other people question it and say they don’t want to or it’s not really that important, the more obstinant and determined we become. :) We will do our best to fight off any snobbishness, but the perceptions of others is no reason not to do what we think is best.

I’ve found a couple blogs from classical homeschooling mothers that I’ve found not only enjoyable, but useful. Here was an excellent post I have bookmarked:

Barefoot Meandering: “Latin is Efficient.”

Oh, and although I’ll learn it alongside Hans, I became ecstatic when I say Memoria Press has very affordable DVDs of Cheryl Lowe teaching her Latin series, which by most accounts is the best one. Woohoo! :)

Not related to this, but following on from your comment at ‘Stepping Heavenward’, we’re not actually using Dewey, but kind of a combination of that (which all our local libraries are) and the UDC (Universal Decimal Classification). If you’re looking at library systems:-)
