“Dominion over Clothes” Day
I have dubbed today my “clothes day.” Instead of working on a particular room or planning or baking, I have resolved to and am in the middle of gaining complete control over all things clothes: closets, drawers, laundry. Everything not already neatly folded or hung in its plaec (not much) was moved out to the living room and divided into “to wash,” “to hang,” and “to fold.” I have done 2 loads of towels/sheets/blankets, I have one load of clothes in the dryer almost done, one load of clothes in the washer ready to be moved, one load of jeans/khakis in queue, and one load of whites waiting in the wings. I have folded the towels and blankets, I have prepared the hallway linen closet to receive them, I have ordered Matt’s and the boys’ closets, I have weeded out clothes that are too small for the boys and bagged them for friends, I have gone through the “18month & summer clothes” box and pulled out what will fit Jaeger now, I have a bag of things to go to Goodwill, I have moved all my clothes into the master bedroom (being used as the office) closet (I began that process on Friday), I have ordered my shoes (no small task), and I have gathered all empty hangers. I still must put the towels away, hang half our clothes and put them in the appropriate place in the appropriate closet, fold the equivalent of 5 loads of laundry (after the laundry is done + what was on the floors and the laundry basket from last week), put the folded laundry neatly away, and take care of the whites (which include socks and kitchen towels).
If all this is accomplished and Matt comes home to a house wherein he can’t tell it was laundry day (because it’s not in the living room or in the baskets or on the beds or in piles anywhere), then when dinner is over and the boys are in bed, I shall have a drink and watch my Netflix movie (A&E tv-miniseries about Napoleon). If it’s not all done, then I shall yet be finishing it even after bedtime. It’s a good thing Matt will be home late today. :)
Laundry is my nemesis, but today shall see a substantial victory over this foe.

If you could get all that done with two little boys under foot, you will have indeed earned your glass of wine and dvd!! Add some popcorn to it, lol!
