From son to father
Hans has discovered email. Of course he discovered that this is what Mommy does on the computer long ago, but in the past weeks he has also discovered that he himself can do it to. I have opened the doors of allowing him to send emails (only one a day) to Daddy:

Dear Hans,
I am pleased to see your computer skills progressing rapidly. I hope
your list is going well today and you are being productive and cheerful.
I've certainly got a lot of work to do here! I must get back to it, but
I will see you later today. I love you!

Dear Hans,
It is good to see that you have discovered capital letters. They open an
entirely new avenue of expression! I hope you are doing well today. I am
quite busy here at work - there always seems to be something broken that
needs fixing, and it is my job to fix it. I had better get back to work.
Have a good lunch!

Dear Hans,
I agree substantially with what you say. Believe it or not, the people
here at work are trying to get me to fly on an airplane tomorrow! But
I'm not sure if it will actually work out. They move kind of slowly, and
there is a lot of paperwork.
I've got a lot of regular work to do, so I'm going to get back to it.
Mommy says you were a cheerful boy this morning - good job! Keep up the
good work!
Dad
P.S. Thanks for giving me a ride to work this morning!

Terse! Very terse. In your situation, I think I'd have done the same.
However, it's very important that you make sure Mommy is resting and
taking care of herself. Remember that if she needs anything at all,
you'll have to get it for her right away, although you're probably not
quite big enough to get her a glass of water yet. All in good time, my
little soldier.
Dad

How cute!
