Gloria Cooki

After reviewing Hans’ catechism questions, which I’ve been trying to do more consistantly lately, Hans likes to sing a song. We usually do the first verse of “Holy, Holy, Holy” (today Hans said while singing: “mercified and mighteeee”), the “Doxology” (which our church sings after the offering), or the “Gloria Patri” (which our church sings after the benediction). After asking if Hans wanted to sing and receiving an affirmative, I began with the “Doxology.” Hans looked disappointed, waited until the end of the song without participating and then said, “No, Mommy! The cookie song!”

Ah, yes…the song we sing at church that signals it is time for cookies…that is his favorite one. :)

How cute! I was always excited about the cookies too! They are some of my earliest church memories, that and singing in Sunday School in Boise. I remember my parents being there for some reason. I wonder if they taught the class? I also drank coffee. Hmm… You probably didn’t want to hear about my childhood memories, but it is funny how the cookies stay with you!
