Is it really so complicated?
I have to bring treats to Bible Study tonight. Earlier in the year, last time it was my turn, I attempted to make a great new recipe I had found for lemon pound cake. I had made it several times, each time perfect and scrumptious. I made three rounds of it last time, and though each tasted great, they all fell apart most unattractively and I ended up taking last-minute brownies instead. So, I decided to try again. First effort again stuck to the pan and came apart just as last time — but as I was holding the pan upside down, knowing what would happen, it stuck me:
I had greased, but not floured, the pan.
Next one into a floured pan, next one out, next one flipped — and it is gorgeous.
So that makes 4 cakes in a row with the same problem, same results, and not until the 4th one did I even have an inkling of my mistake. And the recipe clearly states one must flour the pan. Sometimes I have to wonder about myself. I don’t even have a newborn/lack of sleep excuse this time around!
At least tonight there will be lovely lemon pound cake to be enjoyed by all.

Those “duhh!” moments are very humbling aren’t they? :-)
My husband calls those moments “brain farts”- I get those a lot! LOL!
It was scrumptous Mystie. Thanks for not giving up!
