This is fun, even if it is only Elly who posts on it. :) Other people get in on the comments and we all have a good time and learn from each other.
Geste at Home #2:
How do you currently divide, organize, and perform your chores each week? Do you like your current system or are you revamping or planning to revamp it?
I redo my system more often than I keep a system, personally. The fun is all the planning, and the motivation comes from trying a new system, even if it’s only a few tweaks. I’ve never gotten to the point of one way being a habit. It’s always about making new lists. :) I generally glean one new habit or better housekeeping technique from each revision, though, so progress is being made. :) A “Home Blessing Hour” on Tuesdays has been a great addition from the currently crumbling system — on Tuesdays I vacuum, empty garbages, change sheets, and quickly tidy floors or any pile that’s bugging me. It usually takes less than an hour if I actually get start it and go through it all during naptime. Since moving I’ve tried spacing my laundry throughout the week instead of doing it all in one day. I’m still not sure which works better. I’m leaning toward getting back to Monday Laundry Day. None of my other day assignments (“office day” “errands day” “cleaning day”) really have stuck; they are more things I do throughout the week as I need to rather than saving them for one day. Friday, which I previously assigned as cleaning day (bathrooms, thorough kitchen stuff, etc.) is generally observed because we frequently have people over on the weekends, so the hall bathroom and the kitchen island at least get the run down! :)
Anyway, I’m itching for a redo and my current printed calendar sheets with day’s titles will run out in a couple weeks, so it’s time to reassess. :)
