Not much to read here…go elsewhere!
I could post about all I’ve done and all that’s happened since my last post, but that would be a mixture of bragging and complaining. Plus, it would take many, many words and “where words are many, sin is not absent.”
Instead, I will list the things I am grateful for:
-
1. The stomach flu is finished with our family.
-
2. We’re moved in to our rental & I’m done cleaning the old house.
-
3. The open floor plan makes it easy for me to cook & clean while the boys play.
-
4. Today I get to see my students’ creative projects.
-
5. I don’t have to take any midterms; I get to drink a coffee and watch the torture.
-
6. I have good friends to visit and to email.
- 7. Jaeger is crawling!
- 8. Hans has a great haircut.
So, if you’ve been waiting for me to post and are dying for something to read, check out these new blogs:
- Mr. Robinson returns! My favorite post is his poem about Matt: Matt Who Thinks He Knows Poetry.
- Amy Sue has a blog with pictures of her new sweet girl!
So now I just need to get Elly, Jessica, and Tonya into a blog, then I’ll be set! :)

Oh good, something new to read! None of the 3 or 4 blogs I read been updated much recently, so I always do a little dance for joy when I see you’ve done another post. As to my joining the blogging world – I’m not sure I’m computer-literate enough to do that! Oh.. how did you get Hans a haircut? Our haircut experiences with Judah are always miserable and frequently somewhat disasterous, as far as the haircut goes. Talk to you later!
Glad all the cleaning is done at the old place!
Elly, believe me – if I can set up my own blog, you can too!! But then I took the easy way and used Blogger :) I dare you to give it a try, lol!!
Matt is the haircut general around here. Hans gets the Daddy military cut every 2-3 months now. We cut his hair about 2 times in the 12-24 month range and that was a Mommy/Daddy combined effort — my job was to hold him down while Daddy took the buzzers to him. But actually I think Hans likes the feeling of the buzzer on his head and now he asks for haircuts at random. :)
Last Sunday morning Matt — who cuts his hair weekly — left the breakfast table to go cut his hair. “Daddy going?” Hans asks. “To cut his hair,” Mommy responds. Perky Hans: “Oh!! Hans haircut!!” “Well, I don’t know…go ask Daddy.” “Ok!!” And off he runs…I go to check on them a few minutes later and sure enough, Hans is under the buzzer. :)
So, if you’re going for the military academy look, I think it’s easier than if you’re going for the normal little boy cut. :) My friend who has a little boy around Hans’ age just takes him in with her to the hairdresser (who is a friend, I think, and hardly charges any extra for it) every 4-5 months or so.
Ahh, I see. Yes, a military-buzz style is easier. Most of Judah’s haircuts have been of that nature. The only problem is that BOTH of our buzzers start with a frightening crack and have a tendencey to suddenly slow down at unexpected times and pull hair. The last time I tried to give Judah a haircut by myself (actually trying a regular little boy’s haircut this time). foolishly trying without Michael’s assistance, I ended up with a hair-, snot-, and tear-covered, traumatized little boy in a diaper – with a lousy haircut!
And yes, Mrs. P…. I think maybe I will try to start a blog during tax season sometime.. I’ll get free consulting from my little brother. :-)
You all have inspired me to just not cut Alana’s hair. I’ll just let it grow until she’s steping on it, then give it a trim.;) Seriously though, she has so much hair I was thinking about taking her to someone when she’s a little older and have them shape it so it’s even. But I think I’ll skip that now. If I ever have a boy I think I’ll go with the military cut too.
We have the opposite situation…Hans looked like we were giving him a military cut before he ever had a haircut — his first was a month before his first birthday. Right now Hans still has longer hair than Jaeger! If we have a girl I’ll have to have a good supply of bonnets and hairbands, because there won’t be any hair! :)
I’ll keep that in mind for future baby gifts! :-)
