Raising Gentlemen
I saw this on a homeschool list as something one mother used for copywork exercises. George Washington himself had assigned copywork in his youth: Rules of Civility and Decent Behaviour. They are now known as his, which were only his youthful copywork.
Yet these are not too outmoded rules of courtesy. I believe such rules as this still must be taught:
2nd. When in Company, put not your Hands to any Part of the Body, not usually Discovered.
