Real Bed
We took one side rail off of Hans’ bed last week, and now I’m not sure if it was the right thing to do. He seems to be [willfully] unable to distinguish between getting out to play or bother Jaeger and getting out to use the bathroom. The former he will do quietly and surreptitiously; the latter he will not do, or at least not without yelling to ask permission, and thus wake his brother up.
He certainly does enjoy being able to get into bed himself, though. After all, he’s only allowed to suck his thumb in bed. He figured out the first day that he could run to his room whenever he wants to get in a 30-second fix.
He seems to be ready to do away with the nap, or at least any nap longer than 25 minutes. Even with the crib railing, both boys napping together was no longer working. Jaeger can’t seem to decide which nap to give up. He rarely naps twice anymore, yet he refuses to prolong either nap and ends up having either a cranky morning or a cranky late afternoon. All while I wish I could nap for them. :)
Sigh.
