I had a midwife appointment this morning and everything is great. This last month has been a return to my normal appointment routine: come in, say hi, go to the bathroom and get my weight, wait for Fran for a minute, go in, have no issues and no questions, hop up on the table and check my low blood pressure, let her push the baby around a bit and measure my tummy, listen to the heartbeat, then smile, make my next appointment, and leave.
Today we had extra-good news, though: Ilse is head down and I didn’t gain a single pound since my last appointment 2 weeks ago. Woohoo!
My midwife will be gone for a little over a week the week before Christmas, when I will be 36-37 weeks along, so she told me not to be early. I don’t think we need to worry about that, but she said it’d fit with the way her clients are going for this to be the pregnancy that I deliver early. :) But she no longer delivers at the hospital and she won’t deliver at home until after 37 weeks, so if I did go into labor while she’s gone I’d have to go to her back-up doctor anyway. I’m not concerned at all. January 10th is the day I’ve fixed on. I think my labor will begin January 10th. So, we’ll have a baby the weekend after my due date, January 12th or so. :) If that’s my expectation then I can be pleasantly surprised if she comes on time. My friend Heidi will be visiting from the 7th or 8th to around the 18th or so, so we’ll just try to get Ilse out in time for Heidi to meet her, and yet not have the labor impinge too much upon our visiting.
Ummmm, I think you mean 36-37 weeks, right? :D
