Elusive Maintanence

I have spent two weeks cleaning house, though many of the days in those weeks were spent keeping clean what I had already thoroughly cleaned. I believe I can now say that every room in our house — except for the still-under-construction upstairs bathroom — is clean. Yesterday I vacuumed the stairs and upstairs for the first time. Yup. The first time. Matt vacuumed it all just before we moved in, but it hasn’t seen the vacuum since. I’m 23 weeks pregnant now, so that would be about 19 weeks or so of accumulated dust and debris.
I thoroughly cleaned the kitchen last Monday, and it was only the second time I’d done that here.
Everything is cleaned, swept, vacuumed, mopped, dusted, put in its proper place…. Even the laundry is caught up and put away.
Now comes the true test. How long can it stay that way?

Congratulations! So, the 2nd trimester “burst of energy” has arrived?! (tee, hee)
I read a tip at one of the blogs you link — Large Family, I think — a while ago. . . . To clean something little everytime you’re in the bathroom . . . . For me, that translated to wiping off the vanity/faucets. It has helped greatly as we’ve added our young bathroom user to the mix. It seems that standing water mixed with soap is a great enemy to bathroom cleanliness.
