God’s Promise

We had an 18-week ultrasound today. Most importantly, the ultrasound showed a strong heartbeat; a healthy-looking heart, spine, and brain; and two hands and two feet and a beautiful profile. Praise God!
But we also discovered that we are expecting the arrival of our first little baby girl!
Woohoo!
She will be named Ilse (IL-sa), which means “God’s Promise.” A few days after Friedrich was born, I turned to Matt and told him that if our next full-term baby was a girl, she would be Ilse (our second-girl chosen name) and not Geneva (our original first-girl name) because of its meaning. This baby would not be a part of our family had Friedrich lived. God’s providence is worked according to His will, and His ways are mysterious. This little one is precious. She is not full term yet, but yet even if she were not to get that far, she is still God’s promise and she is ours to love for the time God grants her to us on this earth.

Wonderful! Congratulations on the healthy little girl! Your boys will love being big brothers, and Hans must be so pleased! Now I have a superstitious but strong feeling that the next time we have a baby it will be a girl, too!
Oh, I’m so delighted for you that it is a girl!!!!! Many many blessings!
Praise God! I don’t even know you, but am rejoicing with you. Your story is very similar to mine. I too have a four year old, a two year old, and have lost two in the last year, the first at 11 weeks, the second at 5. God has now entrusted us with another blessing, and I’m 7 weeks pregnant. I wrote on my blog about how emotional it is, and I’m sure you can very well relate to that! I’m so happy to hear of the life of your little girl, and I pray that God gives you much peace and joy as you carry her.
In Him,
Rebeca
Congratulations Mystie! We will have girls that are within a year apart from one another. I hope that they will be good friends! You will have fun with all the girl stuff- dresses, hair accessories, etc!
