Middle Name Options
I have provided Matt with a whole long list of names I like for middle names. I would be happy with any of them. He still hasn’t done anything but make jokes about them all.
Elizabeth
Vivian
Evelyn
Rowena
Eowyn
Eilidh (AY-lee)
Brighe (BREE)
Astrid
But here’s a new one that Matt might go for….drumroll, please:
Aoibheann (EE-ven or eev-een)
But then, I found a reputable Irish name site that said Brigid was pronounced “Bridge-id”! Maybe it’ll be back on the list after all. :)
Here are the names in my order of preference:
1. Brighe
2. Eilidh
3. Brigid
4. Vivian
5. Eowyn
6. Rowena
7. Aoibheann
8. Astrid
9. Elizabeth
10. Evelyn
Our next girl, if such a one comes into being, will be Geneva Kaet, so we’ll have to get to three girls before any of these names come back. :) In other words, I’m not claiming any of them. Two or more children are likely to follow Ilse, but am still hoping for a mostly boy family. Maybe that preference will change once I have a little girl, but my identity right now is more aligned as “mother of boys” than simply a generic “mother.” Of course, there’s no such list at all of boy names left over. But that’s ok. Once Ilse gets a middle name I don’t need to look at name lists again until child #5 — or maybe even #6, if such a child is conceived. :)

For the record, I am solidly in favor of Aoibheann. (Not a joke.)
You can’t use anything related to Lord of the Rings anymore, ever since that buffoon Jackson inflicted that atrocious dreck of his upon the general and ignorant masses. It’s exactly the same reason you can’t fly a Confederate flag.
