Preschool Routines
So, here it is, the full meal deal. I’ve split up our days into more “times” than I’ve previously done. We’ll see how they work. I inserted times in parenthesis just to get a general idea for the times of day, not as times to rigidly follow.
Morning Routine – Mystie up & dressed & hair up, pray, breakfast, vitamins, boys up, begin their morning routine, during their breakfast, read proverb & psalm, unload dishwasher
Morning Routine – Boys (7) up, dressed, make bed & tidy bedroom, breakfast, clear table, job: silverware/plastics away (10¢/5¢),
Morning Time – Everyone together (8) pray & sing; recite Apostle’s Creed, catechism, & Bible memory; read Bible story
Chore Time – Mystie gather & sort laundry from the far corners, start a load of laundry, day’s tasks on weekly list, move laundry to dryer
Play Time – Boys active or outside play after morning time
Table Time – Boys (11) pre-writing “school” sheet, free drawing/coloring, listen to boys’ music
Lunch Time – everyone (11:30) read several poems while boys eat, clear & wipe down table
Hans’ Time (Jaeger plays by himself with building toys) TATRAS for 5-10 minutes; War, Go Fish, or Dice
Boys play separately until around 1 while I clean up the kitchen and get ready for my time.
Hans’ Quiet Time, Jaeger’s nap time, Mystie’s free time (~1-2:30)
Jaeger’s Time (when he wakes up) – snuggle, Alphabet Book (identify letters, animals, and colors)
Read-Aloud Time – 2 Hans’ choice, 2 Jaeger’s choice, 1 library
Project or Reading Time – Mystie Afternoon Play Time – Boys listen to classical radio
Afternoon Tidy – Boys (4)
Dinner prep & general tidy – Mystie (4)
Table Play – Boys – puzzles/coloring/manipulatives/playdough
Dinner Time – everyone (5:30)
Evening Routine – Mystie – clear & wipe down table, dishwasher going & remaining dishes washed, counters wiped down, rags hung to dry
Boys to Bed (7:30)
My Bedtime (9:30-10)
