Rewards of Read-Alouds

It was dark and rainy this morning when the boys woke up. They thought that maybe I was letting them get up in the middle of the night. :)
As the boys looked out the window upon reaching the main level, Hans remarked, “The sun did not shine, it was too wet to play, so we sat in the house all that cold, cold, wet day.” Jaeger chimed in with, “Too cold to play ball.”
And once more I resolved to defy my own laziness and selfishness and read to them lots. :)
Later on, after we did read Cat in the Hat, and had reached the line “So all we could do was to sit, sit, sit, sit,” Hans remarked, “I guess they don’t have Lincoln Logs.”
