Someday I want to

Friday  around evening time  Mystie

* keep frozen pesto in my freezer, homemade with home-grown herbs.

* learn blackwork and design and stitch my own sampler.

* learn tatting.

* make wine cork trivets.

* have a daughter who will wear smocked dresses (I’m waiting on having a girl until my mom can sew clothes for her full-time) with bloomers (edged with my handmade tatting) and sundresses with sandals.

* do a self-directed study of literature and social/cultural history from 1800-present (well, until 1900, maybe, since there hasn’t been any real literature written in a very long time…).

* make, use, and keep up my supply closet/pantry so that I never run out of staples again (by keeping a back-up on hand).

* have a scrapbook for each of my children with several spreads for the first year and one to two spreads per year per child thereafter.

* grow a flower garden that includes roses, daisies, and lavendar.

* grow tomatoes and strawberries.

* when I am a grandma, provide free babysitting not only to my own grandchildren, but also for families who do not have family in town; I would also like to make a freezer meal or two a standard gift to congratulate mommies when they are newly pregnant and newly delivered.

* own a medieval costume, complete with farthingale, and live in a house where it might even fit in; it’s a dream, anyway. I might settle for a more simple Regency garb if I could get Matt into a redingote. But, he’d look smashing in a Tudor doublet as well, I think.

How about you?

    Our church does meals for after the baby’s born but I like the idea of giving one for newly pregnant mommies too!

    The smocked dresses are adorable and I like the idea of a medieval costume. We do a Reformation Night celebration with costumes so my husband and I have make shift costumes for that period. You can see a picture . Not particularly authentic, but still fun to wear. I hope to dress our whole family up as each child comes along.

    I like you list!

    Well, the link works, but the coding didn’t do what I expected. Oops! I tried.
