Appropriate Milestone

Saturday  in mid-afternoon  Mystie

After eating and burping this afternoon, I smiled down at Ilse and she responded by looking right into my eyes and smiling back. This caused me to laugh and she smiled even more. She even made a gurgling in her throat in mimic of my laughter.

Her smile also confirmed to me my suspicions: she definitely looks like Hans. I looked through the boys’ baby pictures the other day and thought she most resembled Hans. And when she smiled, she looked exactly like our favorite baby picture of Hans, which we dubbed “Happy Hans.”

I will have to find it (it’s on a back-up CD somewhere at this point) and add it to this post and also try to get a smiley Ilse picture. :)

Ilse will be baptized tomorrow and will then also meet two sets of her great-grandparents, so I hope we’ll be able to coax her into smiling for them. :)
