For the Record
Hans and Jaeger both weigh in at 41 pounds. How do they do that?
Ilse is between 18 & 19 pounds. So, if the rule-of-thumb is that they double their birth weight by 6 months, then she’s right around average, but she’s indisputably long, so she is wearing 9-12 month pants and sleepers, but can still get into a 6 month onesie. This is the opposite of Jaeger at the same age.
I haven’t been back to the doctor’s office since Ilse was 3 months, but we finally pulled out our own home scale after I banned it to the inner depths of the closet during my last trimester. Matt wanted to know if the restaurant food was getting to him. Of course it wasn’t. I, myself, haven’t weighed in since I was 8 months pregnant. At almost 8 months postpartum, it turns out I didn’t need it anyway. My guess was spot-on accurate. Sigh. I braced myself for a shock while simultaneously hoping against hope that the scale would bring good tidings of great joy. I think the scale needs to be banned again. It is of no use to me.

Gracie is 16 pounds at almost 10 months. Ilse still has her beat. Always has. I know how you feel about the dreaded scale. Who needs them anyway?
