Ilse Silsa
Ilse is two month old. She is about 12 pounds 10 ounces and very long. Her feet already fill out the 3-6 month footed jammies, so much as I love those, I’m afraid she’ll have to use two-piece jammies with socks. She is the opposite of Jaeger. Jaeger moved up a size in onesies before pants; Ilse is still wearing 0-3 onesies just fine, but wears 3-6 month pants and size 1 shoes fit perfectly. Even Hans didn’t have that issue as a baby. He stayed pretty proportionate until he hit 3 1/2 or 4 and then he sprouted upward.
She has been sleeping SO well. From about 5 weeks on she’s been sleeping through the night very regularly, even while she has been sick. She has her “nightcap” feeding around 10 or 10:30, then sleeps until 5 or 5:30 pretty consistently. I cannot complain about that! But I will be happier when it is light at 5, and I really need to work at getting to bed quickly myself, because 11-5 is still only 6 hours and I am not an afternoon nap person. Since she’s so consistent I really should get myself ready for bed at 9:30 so that I can get right to bed immediately after she’s in bed. That takes forethought, though, and I don’t have much of that by 9! :)
She has been sick with congestion along with the rest of the world this last week and a half. She is pretty much all better now, but she had a couple days with a cough and raspy breathing last week, so I took her to Urgent Care, where they — of course — gave her “just in case” antibiotics. It didn’t make her any better, so it was just a viral bug like I thought. But I did feel better knowing I had had her checked out and it wasn’t serious and I wasn’t missing anything. And I am giving her the antibiotics (a ten day dose!) because the doctor said it would keep it from turning into bacterial pneumonia. She’s not terribly impressed with strawberry flavor. :)
The camera needs new batteries, then I can get some pictures, download them onto the computer, crop and resize them, upload them onto the internet, then post them…..yeah, so, it’ll be a few days before that whole process happens. :)
