Learning from Friends

We’ve had play group for almost 5 years now. When you eat lunch weekly with one set of ladies, you are bound to affect one another. Here is what I have learned:

Kirsti – zucchini is a very versatile and tasty vegetable to add to many dishes; turnips are tasty; blended soups are worth the effort. I added Black Bean Chili to my repertoire.
Andrea – grain-based salads are a must for summers; cous-cous is a quick-and-easy noodle. I added Sweet Potato Fries to my repertoire.
Sarah – whipping cream and butter are worlds above Cool Whip and margarine; I learned the secrets to making amazing onion rings. I added Cranberry and Mushroom Brisket to my repertoire.
Heidi – friendships need still more visiting and chatting than play group to grow.
Allie – hospitality is the best way to keep your house clean; pumpkin bread is a fall staple. I added Sweet Potato Pot Roast to my repertoire.

Thank you, ladies! I would not be who I am today without our play group, and our family would still be eating cream-of-mushroom-soup casseroles.

So it’s them! A pox upon you, play group, you pack of knaves and rascals, for robbing me of cream-of-mushroom-soup casseroles!
