He’s Done It!
Hans has read 100 books! And he did it before he turned 6!
His prize for reaching 100 was his own Bible: an ESV Children’s Bible.

Wow, it is funny how different families do different things! Post-100 books seems perhaps wiser than our way of “when you can read.” We also did an ESV, but a pew Bible version (the pictures of Jesus in the Children’s version were just too much for our family.)
Anyway, Congrats to Hans … a wonderful accomplishment!
Yes, I thought that this was the “without pictures of Jesus” version, but it turns out it was only without a picture of Jesus on the front. And it came plastic wrapped and so I just realized that this morning. Oops. :)
Wonder if I can get Hans’ uncles to read 100 books now?
Tell them to Do Hard Things. :)
They can start, like Hans, with the Bob Books. Billy and Blaze are good, too. :)
Hey! Get them to read Amusing Ourselves to Death and come talk about it with us on my blog posts! They’re high school; they should do reading like that. :) We just started and it’s a short book.
Good job, Hans (and Mommy). I like your idea about giving a BIble. We have already set a precedent for giving a Trip with Daddy, but I am still thinking that I like waiting to give the Bible until after the 100 books…maybe the first birthday after or something would be a good tradition we could add in… Hmmm…
I’d love to see the 100 books list if you ever feel the urge to blog it.
I kept track on goodreads.com; I made Hans his own profile. :) So, the third goodreads box on my sidebar is Hans’ First 100, and you can also see his profile at http://www.goodreads.com/review/list/1998584. For some reason the order is a little off. Farmer Boy was book 99 and then he read St. George and the Dragon aloud to me for his 100th that same day, so he could “shoot 100″ as he put it.
Now Jaeger is jealous of the Bible and wants his own, too. :)
