My First Hair Cut
Well, it was the first hair cut Ilse received and the first hair cut I performed.
First, we shall establish the need for a haircut:

I never expected my daughter to have enough hair to cut until she was at least two, so I think I was still rather in shock and not thinking clearly. I loved my own long hair as a young girl, and so I envision having a girl with long hair as well. However, more than a girl with long hair, I want children with kempt hair. And Ilse’s, even if I brushed it or put clips in it or put pony or piggy tails in, did not stay kempt for more than an hour.
Finally, I realized it was a problem and Matt jumped on with approval once I mentioned that perhaps Ilse should have a hair cut.
So, I checked out four books on haircutting from the library, bought a pair of scissors, and did it. I even did it single-handedly while Matt made Sunday breakfast. It was so much easier than I had thought it would be, and I am pleased every time I look at her. :)

Not letting your dear husband do the haircut?
Um, no. :) No marine cuts for girls. :)
She looks very sweet. You did well. Let me know what your rates are. :)
I think my rate is a latte. :)
Yes! 4 books and a new pair of scissors seemed to do the trick! :-) If only I could do as well with my boys hair…
Clippers are for boys hair! :) The books, though, explained how to do boy cuts, also.
