Resolutions Check-Up
So, I really was serious about my resolutions this year. How about a little March Check-up?
1. Lose 10 pounds by March
Drat. This is not a good start. We’ve still got time before “March” is up, but I’ve not followed through well on this one. I lost 2-3 pounds, but I’m not even sure they’re still off. I tell myself that warm weather and fresh veggies will make it easier and winter just isn’t a good time for exercise and eliminating sugar.
2. Keep a vegetable and herb garden; do better than last year.
It’s been so cold this year! I have dug up our areas and added some more paths in the garden to make more of the space usable, and I’ve begun cultivating above the wall, where I hope to plant some ground cover flower or ornamental grass and some chives. I did collect all my garden notes and print off calendar pages and have a garden notebook. I did plant some peas and spinach a week and a half ago, but I think it’s just still too cold. I started some seeds inside and accidentally baked them, I started some others and took them outside for a little sun and then left them there overnight, and now I have a few more starts sitting on the dining room table and I am resolved they shall not go in the oven or outside. I wonder what will happen to them.
3. Create a Women of Grace chairwoman notebook
I’ve got one place for all my notes, I’ve got a list of things-to-do for the retreat, I’ve got agendas from 1/2 a year, and I’ve got budget notes. It all needs to come together into a notebook after a few more notes are figured out.
4. Finish Household Notebook
It looks nice, it has lots of tabs in alphabetical order, it has budget stuff, it has masters of organizing papers I’ve printed out. It still needs contact lists and cleaning notes. I have a master pantry list and a master household items list, and I’ve got a working list of simplified child clothing needs that still needs refinement.
5. Keep home management system at 80% for two consecutive months
My weekly management page gets tweaked every month. I haven’t been counting up check marks, although there is a spot for accounting accomplishments on the paper. My thoughts on this subject will probably be a series of posts next week. :P
6. Plan & implement first grade; finish detail overview of 1-3 grade
Plans and book lists in progress. We’ll start in July.
7. Incur no library fines
So far, so good!
8. Complete menu blog
It’s not going to be a blog. It’s going to be a booklet. It’s coming along.
9. Read consistantly; keep reading notes; keep a reading log
January was a good month and the reading and note taking has slowed down considerably since. The notetaking is practically non-existent now. Do margin notes count? My dad showed me Goodreads.com in January, so I am keeping a log there.
10. Go label-crazy, making it attractive and useful
Not even started. Not excited about it yet. Not inspired. Maybe in June.
11. Take more pictures and video
Not doing so well here, either. It’s not a habit to grab the camera, though I would like it to be. It does have a regular place to live now, though, so at least I don’t have to go hunting for it.
And now it’s time for bed.
