Helper Girl
It’s after breakfast and the boys have cleared their places and begun their morning jobs. Ilse still has not been given a regular job, but she wants one.
So this morning Ilse, after being excused from the breakfast table, shouted, “Oh! Clear place!” and grabbed her bowl and took it to the kitchen.
She started running toward the living room, stopped suddenly, turned around and ran back into the kitchen shouting, “Job?! Job?!” She grabbed the broom, “Oh! Job! I do it!” Swinging her head from side to side, she searched the floor, “Where a mess?!” for I had just swept last night. “Oh! There it is!” she proclaimed gladly as she ran with the broom toward her breakfast chair, which had a ring of granola around it. She took a few determined swipes at the granola, beat them soundly, felt her victory, dropped the broom, and ran off to play.

Great story!
I am sure my little O. could make a mess for her to clean up any day of the week. ;)
Too fun! Monica’s desire to help comes and goes very sporadically. She loves to help the boys vacuum with the long-handled dust-buster, though. :-)
