Homeschool Review: Drawing
The boys enjoyed drawing lessons so much that drawing became a free-time activity rather than a lesson-time activity.
We used the copying activities at donnayoung.org, the Draw Write Now series, and several step-by-step drawing books from the library. I have read Drawing with Children
, but I didn’t think it was helpful with practicalities. The primary benefit I derived from it was proper terminology for shapes (circle v. dot, as so forth) to use while helping the boys see what they were supposed to do.
All of these are non-consumable except for the free printables (which are free), and the boys will continue to use them this year while also expanding their drawing into the realm of nature journals.

Mystie, THANK YOU! I have heard of Donna Young, but never checked out her site. I became tired of inventing my own worksheets for Drawing with Children (those exercises alone helped my oldest immensely). I am so excited, I just printed off an exercise and handed it to E.! :)
