Review: A Philosophy of Education, by Charlotte Mason

Towards A Philosophy Of Education: Volume VI of Charlotte Mason's Homeschooling Series Towards A Philosophy Of Education: Volume VI of Charlotte Mason’s Homeschooling Series by Charlotte Mason

My rating: 5 of 5 stars Own.

Excellent. I was not expecting to like it as much as I did. Mason saw the problems emerging in England in the early 20th century and was crying out for England to reject German utilitarian, materialist, Darwinian (she names these particular philosophies) and return to a classic, liberal education.

She lays out many practical methods to accomplish a liberal education in a class or in a home (by parent or governess) situation.
