School Year 2010-2011: Together Lessons, Addendum
I forgot to add that we also read a fairy tale together during our “couch time” lessons. I have Lang’s Blue Fairy Book, but most of those are very long and Jaeger tends to glaze over while I read.
I’m not a very compelling reader.
So, I was thinking. I have collected a bunch of picture book versions of fairy tales that I don’t read often enough. Also, the library has a copy of an out-of-print fairy tale anthology (Tasha Tudor’s Bedtime book) illustrated by Tasha Tudor that I’ve checked out three or four times and love. I added that to my library requests, but then on a whim checked Amazon and found I could get a good condition hardback for 50-cents plus $4 shipping! I jumped on it and I am very excited to receive it.
So our Lang will be replaced with my picture book versions.

Okay. Tell me about The Kitchen Knight. I notice it’s by Hodges and I do love her Fairie Queene rendition. Is this one just as good?
Yes, yes. It’s broken up into 3 sections or chapters. I love both Hodges’ writing and Hyman’s illustrations. :)
