Still Here, Folks

Don’t be refreshing all day watching for a birth announcement. :) I haven’t even had anything I’ve deemed to call “early labor” yet, of which I have previously had at least two days’ worth before “active labor” hit. My midwife reminded me that I don’t necessarily have to have days of early labor, it could just start all at once, but I let myself hope and expect that last time and it only exacerbated the misery. So, until I get hours of regular contractions, I’m putting out the date two days. So, right now I’m not expecting him before Friday. But, Friday is the 19th. If he has a birthday that begins with a 2 I’m going to be mad. If he is waiting for his Nana to return (late on the 21st), then I will be furious — unless he makes it quick. I might forgive his lateness if he makes it easy on me. :)

Jaeger was born 2 days after the due date, Ilse 3 days, and today is 2 days past Knox’s. Hans was born 2 weeks after his due date, but we aren’t going to talk about that. I had called this my “due week,” but my hope is beginning to wear thin at this point.

As for now, my 12-year-old sister is reading to the children in the living room and I’m gearing up to get us out the door to play group. And, appropriately, it’s cloudy and drizzly.
