Notes to Self for the Upcoming Term

This term sets the tone for the year. Keep it cheerful, keep it upbeat, keep it moving.

You can’t expect self-discipline out of the children if you don’t evidence it yourself. Therefore, stick to the split summer term schedule (half in the morning, half in the afternoon) so that you can be trusted to do it on Wednesdays (for playgroup) throughout the year.

Make Friday teas a pleasant time for everyone.

Preread assigned books on Mondays.

Keep an eye on the goals.

I am going to have to check out those books- we have the Chronicles of the Ancient Church series but I need to get some more historical fiction! I like your blog!

I love your book recommendations — I added that Gilgamesh book to my wishlist, along with an earlier one you recommended.

I bought that wonderfully illustrated Beowulf you recommended a couple of months ago and my children love it. Somthing I found that you might like is Stories of Beowulf Told to the Children by H.E. Marshall. The Baldwin Book Project has it, so does Amazon — free for Kindle.
