About Mystie
“I will be a healer and love all things that grow.”
ABOUT MYSTIE
Mystie is a Reformed Christian, submissive wife, and full-time mommy. To her is not the role of righting the world’s wrongs, but instead making right the bruises of her sons and the messes of everyday life, and making whole and sound her family’s home and heart.
With four-year-old and two-year-old boys tagging along behind and a little girl in arm, Mystie strives to maintain an orderly and peaceful home. Official homeschooling looms ahead, but daily interaction with and training of her future knights cannot be diminished in importance and should be considered equally as integral to their development as future scholastic studies will be.
Her heart also is under the healing care of God’s sovereign hand. God called home little Friedrich William at 16 weeks gestation and another little one at 7 weeks. Her only comfort is that she is not her own, but belongs body and soul to her faithful Saviour, Jesus Christ, who is keeping herself, her boys here on earth, and her children in heaven safe in His loving, providential care.
In years past (2002-2006), Mystie has also taught writing and literature to 6-10th graders at Coram Deo Academy and independently. Education is also the work of a healer, following Milton’s statement that “the end then of learning is to repair the ruins of our first parents by regaining to know God aright, and out of that knowledge to love Him, to imitate Him, to be like Him.”
Mystie, graduating in 2002 with a B.A. in English from the University of Idaho after being homeschooled from birth through high school, also enjoys quality reading, etymological studies, and administrative/organization work. Some of her favorite authors are Shakespeare, Jane Austen, John Donne, J.R.R. Tolkien, as well as the anonymous scops who composed Beowulf and Sir Gawain and the Green Knight. Lastly, when cleaning a room she will alphabetize the bookshelf or rearrange the closet before vacuuming or dusting.
